Bikeability
On Monday 13th until Friday 17th April, Year 6 children each had a 90 minute lesson every day for bikeability. Their sessions consisted of understanding the road and traffic environment with the aim to develop and encourage safe cycling skills.
The children learnt how to:
- start and stop an on-road journey
- U-turn
- pass a side road and stationary vehicle
- turn left and right in and out of minor and major roads
- use different road positions
- be aware of other road users and hazards
- make decisions whilst cycling
- recognise signals, signs and road-markings.
The Year 6s were exhausted but learnt lots and had great fun doing so! Take a look at the gallery below!
